Cast off into the orange glow of sunset, Released and free floating as if out of body, Unsupported yet hopeful.
Starting afresh and shedding skin, New beginnings stretching outwards, 3 weeks more.
Discomfort unknown but expected, Restraint all gone, Wasted.

My initial thoughts on getting my cast off my left arm yesterday!!
They threw it into an orange medical waste bag, my arm felt so weird & lightweight - not really part of me but as if it should still be protected.
I'm really looking forward to being able to soak it in warm water & scrub my "scales" off!
I've got not movement in the wrist & my elbow (although healing) is still very stiff so I've been given flexibility exercises from the physio. I've to see her again in 3 weeks so no driving until then at the earliest.
I expected it to feel stiff but it's such an odd discomfort sensation & I continue to hit it off everything!
My poor wee arm looks so skinny & wasted away and now the hard work begins!
