My heart is but an empty shell, I'm trying to find the rest.

It was taken by a false pretence, And now it's a.w.o.l.

I remember tracking it through my teens, Before it cracked and broke.

It's probably hiding amongst leaves, Of fragmented memories.

It aches because it is unfound, It beats because it's blue.

I'll try to find it looking hard, I don't know what to do.

The hollow shell remains in me, Ready to be whole.

But out there is the inner part, The part that makes my soul.

Perhaps someone else could find it, Perhaps someone is my match.

Rustling amongst heartbreak, Not forgetting broken dreams.

It's not locked inside a chest, It's not inside a safe.

It's ready to be handled, With love and tender care.

If you see my shattered heart, Pieced like a jigsaw puzzle.

Maybe your my charming prince, To fix my hopeless cause.

Today I'm going hunting, A treasure with no map.

To mend a missing piece of me, And fix my shattered heart.
