Now I'm no snob, but there really isn't anything nicer than a REAL gin & tonic. Here's my recipe for one of Britain's most refreshing drinks.
Firstly - the ingredients and components:
1/ Gordon's Gin (If it's in the green glass bottle then, yep, that's the one!)
2/ Schweppes Slimline Tonic. Yep - you want it REFRESHING, not sugary.
3/ Tall, relatively narrow, glass. Sometimes known as a high ball.
4/ Ice - oodles of it!
5/ Lime or lemon slices + a little quarter of the fruit to give it real tang.
And how to put it together?
(a) Add ice to glass - glass should be at least half full of uncrushed ice cubes. Add at least 2 slices if your preferred citrusy compadre!
(b) Pour a minimum of 50 mls into glass through the ice and fruit.
(c) Top the glass up with the slimline tonic. Definitely Schweppes and not Britvic (The latter is the devils work and has little or no refreshing tang). The longer the drink the more refreshing it is!
(d) Squeeze the remaining quarter fruit into the top and stir gently with appropriate implement.
(e) Enjoy!
