Standing on top of the mountain, I took a long and deep breath, taking in the beauty. Like a crunched up piece of paper, the snow and trees continued far past what the securities of my innocent mind could comprehend. I found myself spinning, eyes glazing over the land as the dumbfound smile on my face slipped into the cold air. The snowflakes that landed on my coat soon felt as if they pierced right through my skin. Now it wasn't my body that was spinning, but my head and my heart. The cold slipped into my head and settled where the fantastic wonder of the landscape had just so briefly been a bewilderment. All of the mystery and excitement blew out of me faster than the wind that swept around my feet, and I stood there dumbstruck and numbingly scared. I could see so far and wide, but too far for me.
