I wander through a wonderland,
Orange skies and mountains grand.
Inside my mind I've conjured this,
A stunning world of joy and bliss.
I walk beside the bluest shore,
Water deep, so clear and pure.
I find myself on board a boat,
Past green hills and fields we float.
The world is almost upside down,
A storm has come to sink and drown.
And when I think I won't survive,
The storm does pass, I'm still alive.
I disembark, I've reached the end,
To normality, myself I send.
I have to leave my world of wonder,
A sound I know tears it asunder.
Leaving a world of fury and calm,
Wrenched from dreams by my alarm.
Sun yet slumbers as I rise,
Biting wind and gloomy skies.
I want to leave this life behind,
To leave behind the daily grind.
And as I trudge through dark and ice,
My mind returns to paradise.
