As the snow melted, I wept in awe, The ice prince I'd created, Was a pile of water on the floor,

A journey I started, Not so long ago, I built my ice prince with bare hands, Out of the crisp white fallen snow,

I built him to be strong, To be my trusty aide, To help me through the darkness, My protector the persona he played,

He came alive one night, Whilst the snow slowly fell, He immediately became my saviour, Through my battle with the gates of hell,

He stopped hell from consuming, He fought the devil in his quest, He stopped the hands of satan, From clutching my heart right out of my chest,

We struck a bond of reliance, I made him, brought him to life, He saved me from hell, Dug me out from my awful strife,

I knew from the beginning, That the winter would soon pass, And once the spring peeked through the cold, He'd be a puddle on my grass,

I didn't expect it to be so soon, We said our final goodbyes, I watched him melt and whither away, Right before my watering eyes,

And now I kneel here all alone, Thinking of our quest, Watching your puddle feed the grass, Where your memory is laid to rest,

As the puddle disappears, The grass begins to grow, Spring has reared it's sunny head, The winters winds no longer blow,

In its wake the skies are blue, The birds begin to sing, The night sky is calm and clear, The moon dons its hazy ring,

By day the buds of flowers, Peek their head above the soil, An image of new beginnings, And an end to my turmoil,

By night the stars can be seen, No clouds to mask their shines, The moon illuminates the earth, A blanket to help and comfort me through hard times,

Then I come to think, That my ice prince maybe gone, But now that the spring is here, I realise, I fought the battle on my own all along.

The seasons pass and change, With each rotation of the earth, No two days the same, Each sun rise is a new days birth,

The moral to this story, Is to take one day at a time, For one day you'll look back in awe, At the battles you've won, the mountains you have climbed.
