I was super scared. What if 7th grade wasn't perfect, and no one likes first days.My friend was close by my side. "What if 7th grade is horrible?" I asked my best friend, David "I doubt that" said David, I hugged my bag and stepped in my big middle school. My new teacher, Mrs. Nara was standing at the door. "Welcome Kate" said Mrs. Nara. I flashed a fake smile and hurried to my seat. Only to find out I was sitting next to my crush, Chris. I couldn't believe he was in my class! "Hi" I muttered, tongue tied. "Hey Katy" said Chris and arranged the things on his desk. "How you like 7th grade so far?" I asked, blushing. "Nothing like 6th but it's good" said Chris, I nodded slowly. "No talking" said Mrs. Nara shutting the classroom door. "Start the warm-up we are silent." I rolled my eyes, RULES! RULES! RULES! Chris bumped my arm, I glanced at him. He grinned and continued working. I couldn't help blushing, and my heart skipped a beat. "Time is up!" I dropped my pencil like it was a test.
"How was today?" Chris asked, as I walked with him out the school doors. "Good I guess a bit loopy" I admitted, shrugging. "Well I'll see you around" said Chris. I pulled out my phone as he walked away. "Yeah bye" I murmured lifting one hand to wave goodbye as Chris was out of sight.
"So your already IN LOVE with Chris?" David asked. "That's none of your business" I said. "Uh huh" said David. "What about us?" I murmured, David stopped. "What?" "Nothing" I said. "Why would you, bring that up?" I opened my house door. "No reason" I answered and then went in. Leaving David outside to think about the conversation.
I picked up my phone, I expected David to text me. "Katy off the phone!" I groaned and trudged downstairs. "David and his mom is coming over" said mom setting the table. My brother sat on the couch, watching cheesy cartoons and drinking hot cocoa. "That's good" I muttered, and dashed upstairs. I checked everything. I added a few brushes to my hair before the doorbell rang. I walked downstairs at my best normal pace. "Come in" said mom. David smiled at me as I waved. "Ok you two can talk and do something" said David's mom. Waving us away, I took David to are secret hide out. The hideout was a room I found from my closet we would hide in the room. I had gotten my mom to let me carpet it, and get a fridge in there. I lay on the floor, listening to the radio, and tossing a chip. I then stood up and opened the window to see the world. David came up next to me. "It a pretty view" said David. I smiled at him, and nodded. Suddenly everything happened so fast, David leaned in and kissed me. I was so shocked I stepped on his foot and then he tripped, and I tripped. Short story is, we ended up lying side by side.
Maybe love is meant to be like that. Best friends "fall" for each other . And then 1 KISS later your dating. David helped me up, I was speechless. My tongue tied in a giant knot. "David!Katy! Down here this instant!" my mom called. Did she know? I shook my head impossible. But I still raced downstairs.
"They're dating!" said David. He came up to me a look of disgust on his face. "David you care" I said. "No I don't" said David. "Ok then, this is Beau. You know the new student?" I asked. "I've heard" snapped David. 3 hours ago "Class" said Mrs. Nara, "we have a new student, Beau." "Beau you take a seat in front of Chris and Katy." "I'm Beau" he said. Turning around to face me. I smiled, and hid my face. 30 minutes ago Beau looked at me. "Uh Katy, do you want to go out with me?" Beau asked. I was speechless, my cheeks a dark red. "Hmm ok" I said. Modern Time I stared at Beau while he talked to David. "Isn't he dreamy?" I asked. Beau laughed, and continued talking. "Your crazy" said David. I looked at David for a few seconds and then shrugged.
I walked home with Beau, I knew I was hurting David. But he didn't understand that I could date a boy. "So?" Beau asked. "I have a soccer game in 1 month want to come?" I asked. "Sure, if I'm free, my brothers birthday is coming up" said Beau. "Hope you can come, it's my last game" I said. "Really?" "Well, I'm starting volleyball soon so I'm quitting soccer" I said, I was pretty sure Beau was bored.
I glared at David. "You don't understand I like Beau" I said. "No you don't" said David. "Why do you care!" I shouted. "Fine!" "Fine!" "I'll go!" "Bye!" David paraded away and slammed his house door shut. Maybe David was right, but I wasn't running back like a helpless girl. "Do you know who your taking to the Halloween dance?" Beau asked, I shook my head. I was going to ask Beau, but he was in the football game during the party, so he couldn't make it. I would've asked David to go, and we would've found funny outfits. But David wasn't an option anymore. Then there was Chris, my crush. I would've asked him, but he and Ella were dating so... I stared at my perfect Halloween dress, I had to go with someone. Halloween Dance Everyone was dancing, every single boy asked me to dance, except David. I turned them down hoping David would notice. One boy, Luke asked 3 times to dance finally I said yes. Luke was a 8th grader, only a few 8th graders would go to the party. "How do you like it here?" Luke asked. "It's amazing" I said, smiling. Suddenly David bumped into me. "Oh is that you?" David asked, his "date" Ginger giggled. "Go away David!" I snapped. "Oh hi Katy" said David. Luke shoved him away, spilling David's drink all over my dress. "You clutz!" I shouted and stormed off. Everyone realized David was well, blind. He was cute that way, I guess. But it could be annoying. David ran after me, and then tripped down the stairs. I couldn't help but run back. I was crying for no apparent reason, I rested my head on David's and closed my eyes. "Katy, I hope that's you" said David, I laughed and wiped away all my tears . "I know that laugh...."
I climbed into bed. "Night" I said, I heard David turnover on the floor, and mumbled night back. I felt like the damsel in distress waiting for her knight in shining armor, or knights. I opened my eyes, David was out on the balcony. I stood next to him. My slipped my hand into his. He didn't show any movement. "Do you like being blind?" I asked, putting my head slightly on his shoulder. "It would be nice to see you though" said David. I hit him lightly and laughed. "Your so cheesy!" I said hugging him.
Beau was waiting for me outside school on Monday. "So you were with David?" Beau asked, I shrugged. "Why?" I asked. He twirled a basketball on his finger. "No reason" he said and walked away, the first stage of are breakup. I met up at his locker, and gave him a kiss. "Beau" I said sweetly, twirling my hair. "Are you free this weekend?" Beau closed his locker. "Maybe" he muttered before hurrying to class. At lunch he was surrounded by his friends. "Scram!" I snapped, so I could sit next to Beau. "Those are my friends" said Beau. He threw his school lunch away and left me. During recess, I grabbed David and pulled him into a janitors closet. The best hideout so far. I was freaking out, Beau was rejecting me! "David what do I do??" I asked. "Beau is rejecting me!" David shrugged, feeling for a chair. I pushed David into the chair to continue my pacing. "What if Beau doesn't like me anymore, or he's cheating on me!" David was quiet, he didn't answer my questions. I left the janitors closet and waited for David to realize I was gone. "Eeeek I see Beau!" I whispered. I grabbed David and kissed him. "Katy" Beau ran over and pulled me away. I looked at him, trying to keep a guilty face instead of bursting out laughing "I'm free for your game, I can even arrange an after party" said Beau, putting his arm around me. "Uh thanks I think" I said. David walked behind us, kicking his legs around or something. "Bye Beau!" I called going into class. It was the worst day ever! I walked home with David, expecting a fight. "Katy I'm not your little play toy, I'm a person and you can't use me for your boyfriend bait" David snapped halfway through the walk. I glared at him and crossed my arms. "But David..." David shrugged. "Fine, but if Beau is busy for the next party your my resort" I said. "It's in the next 2 weeks after your soccer game" said David. "Should I come." "No, Beau is already coming" I said. Soccer Match I was super scared, what if we didn't win!? I looked around, where was Beau. Car trouble, I suspected. Then I saw Beau, with his arm wrapped around some girl from Auto Cars. He waved goodbye and came over. "Go away" I said. "But Kate" said Beau. I pointed him away. Then the miracle, David was there he was coming. His head bobbing side to side, he sometimes walked like that to amuse me and look like a weirdo. I did my best kicks just to show Beau I was good on my own. "I can't see the score but I hope your winning!" yelled David. I laughed and continued playing. "Now we played hard the winner is-" Party I had changed out of my soccer clothes, and was in one of my normal dresses. When you have a best friend at a party, you don't have to dress to impress. I redirected Beau 4 times before David spilled punch all over his nice white suit. I was lucky punch didn't come out of my nose. I hugged David. Everything was better after that. No more boy trouble with David by my side. And my grades were mysteriously going up. I had lots of other friends, by I still made time for are dates! Yes we're dating!!! And at the end of year, we had the best party ever. Including 3 water guns, and a kiss behind a curtain. I went up to the microphone. "I want to say that this year was awesome and my boyfriend David" I said hugging him. "Hope everyone has a great summer ok and Beau stop that look" I snapped. David took the microphone off the stand and continued talking. "Were going to all become 8th graders!! And I hope it isn't as hard!" I then pushed David away and laughed.
