I don't exist and this is my story. My name was Luna, but no one ever noticed me. This is my life beginning to end. I was born in the world, with 4 brothers and sisters. And a mom that forgot me when I was 3 and a dad who never ever payed attention to anyone. What else could I do? I RAN AWAY. I was running out of breath, would mom notice? Doubtful. The forest screamed, I tripped over branches. Until I reached a little hut. A man came out, he wore a blue cloak with white stars. He had a long white beard, and a blue pointed hat. "Merlin!" I exclaimed. Merlin shrugged and took something out of his pocket. It was a red egg, and had a shiny outline. I was about to thank him but he and his house was gone. Except for a bundle of meat and bread. And 2 boxes of matches. I stared at the egg, in my actual dream of Merlin. He took me in as his daughter. But instead I just got a egg, a very pretty egg.

One night the egg cracked and a small dragon no bigger then my hand popped out. It was the color of my hair, a stand-out red. "Look at the sky" I said. "I'm Luna, whenever I look at the moon I feel like I still matter." I pulled my legs together. "Like the moon shows I'm loved because of my name" I stared at the dragon "Fuego." Fuego was my dragon, we traveled together. Until we reached a small town. "You stay in the forest." "I am partially a human living inside you. But people take me as a monster" remarked Fuego, but stayed behind. "There's been news of a dragon and a person who can tame it." The crowd around the boy laughed, and continued with their chores. I walked up to him, he raised an eyebrow. "Your the girl" said the boy. "My name is Luna" I snapped. "Like the moon" said the boy, I winced. "I'm Elliot or Eel for short." "What an odd name" I said. Elliot shrugged, and then guided me to his house. "Mother this is Luna, she was the one with the dragon I saw" said Elliot. Elliot's mother scolded him. "Stop running away with helpless girls, and play with boys your age!" screeched his mother. She shooed me out, and sent Elliot to his room. I went back to Fuego, he would be waiting for me anyway. My first chance at a friend, during the whole dragon process. And it's ruined, I should've excepted it all along. "Oh child" said Fuego. He nuzzled me, and pointed his orange eyes into mine. I curled up against his side, I would only sleep under his wing during winter. I crawled under his wing tonight though, so it was hard for him to look at my face and see the tears. But he felt my emotions, and sighed. "Good night little one" said Fuego. I choked back sobs to respond. "Good night big one."

I woke up at the 4 in the morning. Elliot sat facing Fuego and talking to him softly. "Eel" I muttered, the words slipped out before I could stop them. He looked at me with a gentle stare. "I ran away" said Elliot. He pat the satchel that was hung around his shoulder. "You really didn't have to" I said. Fuego rested his head next to Elliot. I stood up and cleaned up camp. "Where can we find more supplies?" "There's a trading center, in the middle of town. But it wouldn't be safe for me." I gathered all the supplies in my hand. "I have a saddle for your dragon being made. It's a bit hard to hide it but we have to pick it up tomorrow evening." "I love what you've done, but I can't except this." "I've thrown away everything for you Luna" said Elliot. He suddenly kissed me and turned toward the village. "You care about him right?" Fuego asked. "No...maybe. I don't know I'm confused and he didn't let me finish my...history" I murmured. "Luna he didn't understand you, but you didn't understand him either. You must go take him back" Fuego stared at me. "I don't need him!" I snapped. "Yes you do but your trying to hide it" said Fuego. I left Fuego, not forever but for the day. I was angry, I didn't need Elliot. I ended up watching Elliot the next day. Doing all the farm chores. "Hi" I muttered, stepping into the open. He continued with his work but mumbled something in return. "Listen it was stupid of me-" began Elliot. I kissed him. "I never returned I favor" I said. "You care?" "Yes" Elliot blushed. "The saddle's ready, and my bag is still packed" said Elliot. "Tonight, at 11 meet me behind the city wall. Bye Elli- Eel" I said, catching myself. Elliot continued on his chores, like nothing had happened. Planning to tell the clothes maker, so he could get help with moving the saddle. Elliot's POV "Oh no you didn't" shouted mom. She threw the rusted coins on the ground and stomped on them. Crushing them under her plump body. Mom was well fed, while I was frail, weak, and skinny. "That girl, Luna is trouble. But no you go around kissing her like nobody's business!" "I'm 15 mom!" I yelled, and stomped up to my room, I said I was 15. But I felt like a young boy, only 10 years old. Luna's POV Eel caught my fall, as I stumbled to find him. Eel slipped the saddle onto Fuego. Fuego turned left to right. To get the feeling just right and then was ready to fly. There was a scream, we froze in terror. "That's my mother" said Eel, wiping away a tear. That glistened silver in the moonlight."Your hair glimmers in the moonlight" he whispered. And we got onto Fuego's back. "You care" said Fuego, he lifted his wings and spiraled into the air. I gripped Eel, shutting my eyes with great force. Eel held one of Fuego's thorns, while we clutched for our lives.

"Where did you come from?" asked Eel one day. "I ran away from home, I was neglected. Hidden from the world because of my difference then humans" I said. Eel gave me a confused look. "When I was born, I was taken to every elf and doctor to be cured. The only thing-" "Thing?" "The only thing that could cure the disease was a dragon. And dragon was put inside me." I pushed the hair away from my left ear, to show 4 red scales behind me ear. Eel stared into the fire. "Part dragon..." "My parents, never let me have contact with the world because of my dragon feature. They acted like I was a germ that was dumped on their doorstep." "We're they your real parents?" I shook my head, realizing I knew the question. "The dragon was my father his name was, Fangur. In the ancient language it means Godly Animal. He was my father. My mother, was the moon." I sighed, my devastated truth. "The dragon forced the moon to marry him. But even if I was an accident. They loved me just the same. Even it they were a moon and dragon. But one day the moon got angry because a dragon ate a star. She wiped out half of the dragons, and with them Fanghur." "Your mom killed your dad?" "Yeah something like that" I looked at the moon, and waved. "Hi mom." Eel said something so faint I could barely hear it. "I lost my family in a dragon attack, the woman took me in as her little slave and adopted me as her son. No one asked me of my opinion though. I was sold as a slave by my uncle" tears gushed down his face. His history flashed in his eyes. The house burning down, the chains that rattled, and the hard-working days. I put an arm around Eel. "It was never easy-" I shook my head "it was never easy." I hummed the song "When The Saints Come Marching In." That was the song the moon would sing to me, when she was in human form. Her name was Lune, she had flowering white hair. And glowed, her cloak was a white. That could never be stained. She was an amazing sight. Elliot's POV We camped nearly a waterfall, so it was hard to fall asleep. When I woke up Luna was gone. But there she was standing next to Lune. "I am so proud" said Lune. Touching Luna's face. Fuego let out a growl. "Your a dragon rider..." Luna hugged her mom, and smiled weakly. "Luna" she whipped her head around to look at me. "Mom this is Elliot" Luna said. Suddenly Lune had a painful look. "Trouble is coming, you must take flight" said Lune, and she disappeared as the sun began coming up. We cleaned up camp, maybe taking a bit two long. 3 riders rode up, they had long black cloaks, and skeleton horses. I scrambled on, reaching out for Luna's hand. Luna threw me the supplies. One the riders struck Luna to the ground and pulled out a sword. Fuego lashed out his tail. The second rider fell off his horse to reveal a young man. Crash! A tree fell on him leaving his head and legs free. Luna's POV I rushed to him. The man was named Jack. When I was born, Jack was my messenger. And took me to Fanghur to be cured. "Jack" I said. "You remember" he whispered, his eyes flickered. "Yes I do" I said. Fuego lifted the tree and threw it a few feet away. Jack wasn't cured, but he had a better breathing situation. "I have been looking for you since Fanghur died. I was to deliver this." Jack slowly pulled out a necklace, with a glowing moon on it. "This was your mom's glowing orb. He took it from her, but he wants you have it." I held it on my palm. "And watch my daughter." Jack closed his eyes. I noticed a small face from behind the trees. "Are you his daughter?" I asked sweetly. "I'm Esmerelda, yes..." She rocked back and forth. "Come here you'll be safe" Esmerelda ran over. And gripped me tightly, she shivered. "Let's get going" I said. Elliot played games with Esmerelda. Even if he was older. But all I learned how to do, was sit patiently and wait to for food to come down to me in the cellar. Fuego stopped flying. "There's a trading center" he said. We flew down and waited until the owner left. Me and Elliot dashed in, and grabbed meat, fruit, and 3 jugs of water. Before rushing back. Fuego groaned. "Extra weight" instead we ate a bit so it would be less. We made camp in the woods, so Fuego could go hunting for his food. It took Fuego 2 hours to get a full meal, and find a lake or pond. Esmerelda ended up rolling next to Elliot. They were so similar, Esmerelda had brown curls, and Elliot had dusty brown hair. And they both had blue eyes with a purple glint. I was different one. With my red hair, and silver eyes. Elliot got up first, and came up next to me. I hugged
