Another day, another Amazon server dies on us.
Over the course of the last 10 days we have been through three database servers. They just keep dying in what the Amazon technicians call "Underlying hardware issues" and what I'm coming to believe are inherent platform issues.
It's good to know that we're getting *really* good at testing our backup and recovery procedures and that all these valuable opusses are safe!
I see the day approaching when we'll have to say toodle pip to Amazon and opt for reliability over convenience. Sorry Mr Bezos but a good relationship is built on trust and that is something I'm rapidly losing in your service.
Even just a week without any "Underlying hardware issues" would be a good way to start rebuilding that!
Is that too much to ask?
