I still remember the first time I saw you Before I knew enough to be looking for you I remember you walking into the classroom with your friend And wondering what you both were like
I remember watching you all semester Along with every other girl on campus And I remember looking past you
I can still see you standing there at the top of those stairs the first time you spoke to me And I can still hear your voice ringing in my ear After all these years
And I remember the first time I said I love you And how you froze in disbelief
And I remember falling in love Long after I said I already was And I remember when we were "us"
I remember how you lied to everyone So we could find time together And we stole every moment we could get
And I remember never being bored and never getting tired of you
And I remember feeling Like I was always so inspired By you
And also how it changed me Changed me into an artist Because of you
I remember that last day we were together before you got out of the car you said "just drive away" with you
And that last time that I saw you And how I cried And said "good bye"
And I remember going back to school without you
I remember meeting up online And it was almost all the time but we were through
I remember making new friends And trying to have fun And missing you
I remember finding out no one wants to know what I was going through
I remember my Mom one day asking my best and worst moments both were you
And I remember learning not to talk about you
I remember how my art changed Without you
(sometimes it just stopped)
And I remember not long ago Hearing all about you
I try to move on everyday Sometimes alone Sometimes not Nothing seems to help me forget you
People come and people go people get forgotten but not you
...this thing never ends
