The bell rang. Students were running through the schools corridors. Footsteps and laughter were to be heard everywhere. But me? I was the one dragging my feet to the next class. My head hung low. As I heard the echoes of voices bouncing off of the walls, my head filled with thoughts. School. School was probably the biggest thing in a small towns kid's life. Me being in high school, good grades was all I ever wanted. I looked ahead and saw blondes. They were always the 'popular ones.' I dropped my head lower in desperation. My mother always wanted a blonde, girl or boy. And me, being a bright red red head, it was hard to fitting in, but I got along just fine somehow. I had a group of close friends that were reliable. As I was getting caught up in my thoughts, I realized I had reached my destination. My chemistry class. I walked in through the door and took my seat. For the next hour or so, I was doodling in my chemistry book, thinking about how life would be like in the big city, until the teacher, Mr. Brooks called my name. " Alexandria!" I looked up with a smile of pure innocence. "May I see your notes in your chemistry book?" Oh god no. I gave him a sly smile and without hesitation he took my notebook and examined it, thoroughly and carefully. Pages and pages were filled with notes. "Come with me," he remarked. I got up from my seat and followed his footsteps. I must've done something wrong. We walked out into the hallway. He simply smirked. "My main concern for you is that you are barley passing my class. I think the best option is to make a conference with your mother…Alexandria? Alexandria!" The next moment, I felt my lifeless body hit the floor with a thud.
I slowly opened my eyes to the bright lights. By then I realized I was in the nurses office. I for up and off from the cold table. I heard a voice, "It'd be best if you keep your head down." Not knowing where it came from, I simply replied, "thanks, but I'm fine now." I followed the colorful footprints on the ground whereas they showed the exit. As I exited the doorway, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned my head to face Cameron, one of my bestest friends. "Mr.Brooks giving you a hard time again?" Cameron had brown hair and dark brown eyes. He was the type of guy who always had something to say. This was the way he was. He rarely ever greeted me with simple 'hi' or 'how are you'. But, he was a down-to-earth-kid. He never judged you for who you were. He was the one who had many friendships, but yet still he stayed close to me. "Nah,I'm fine. At least I won't have to see him every day." I said, staring at the tiled floor. He gave me a scolding look. "She still hitting you right. " My chest tightened at that. Besides being my best friend he also knew the truth. It was an accident he wasn't suppose to see. "No she not. She's calmed down already." He just kept looking at me. I couldn't look at him. "Alright just so you know I'm here for you if you need me. You don't need to pretend or even LIE to me." Now that just made me feel even more guilty then I already felt.
Kids were running out the door before the bell even rang. Today was everyone's favorite. It was finally Friday. Students pushed and pushed trying to fit through the two doors. As for me I hanged back and the chaos unfold, as teachers tried to operate the traffic. Friday I grumbled. It was my least favorite. While everyone else looked forward to the weekends, hanging out with friends, I hate to think of the two days at home. Even if I hated school I disliked even more at home. Lost in thought I run into Karina. She was my second best friend. "Ouch. Lexi you have got to get your head out the clouds and watch we're your going. " I couldn't tell if she was kidding or if she was really mad. "I'm sorr… "haha don't worry I was just kidding. " Karina was an actor. She was small and cute she had long wavy black hair. Her eyes were a warm brown that held the word mischief in them. "God I almost had a heart attack. I thought you were really mad. " helping her up she took her bow and said "thank you thank you I do try my best." We burst put laughing at her little bow. After we had a little talk we decided to talk later on the phone. "This time you better answer Lexi, or your in trouble. " with a wave she ran off to home. I stood there watching her from the same spot wishing we could have talked more. " yeah, bye. "
