I am from drums, from Les Paul guitars and base.
I am from a long road in the middle of peaceful bliss.
I am from roses and the thorns they hold.
I am from mardi gras, from dark skin,
And Lois, Hershel and Halley.
I am from loud and obnoxious.
From "please and thank you" and "always be honest"
I am from always standing up for what you believe.
I'm from Owensboro and the Eiffel Tower, red beans and rice to fruity tarts
From the city of Paris, a journey my grandmother took as a child,
From the plains of America as it first began, the rich understanding nature has feelings.
I am from dusty boxes stored away into safety, memories and souvenirs tucked away for the next generation to add to.
