Waves were lapping at the shore. The Sun was setting gracefully over the horizons end as evening awoke. Footprints, once visible in the sand, had perfectly washed away.

The red skies waned, giving way to icy, black, space. Sprinkled with speckles of ancient diamonds, the curtain of night drew itself shut upon the light in the world.

The ocean grew hungry. Cold sand slipped between toes, curled, as though afraid of what lay beneath. The waters thrashed about against the shadowy cliffs, revealing a crevice amidst a flurry of Atlantic spray.

Suddenly a strange light shone through the crag and cast a mysterious symbol upon sand.
