Down by riverside road,
Where the water is cool
And the people are young,
So they all go to school.

Where the starlings squawk
And the crabs just scuttle
Instead of walk.

Where the flow'rs are bright,
And the trees are tall
Making shadows in the night.

There's a cottage just there.
With damp, dirty windows,
No means of care.

You see this place.
On the inside, warm as toast.
On the outside, an ancient disgrace.

I have no view.
I just look out and see
A cottage or two.
