In 1570 a baby boy was born in York He would come to be known as Guy Fawkes
Was he really a traitor? Or someone wanting to make a difference an innovator?
Was it a conspiracy, it might sound lame But could he have been framed?
A letter informing the king Could've been no more than a Jacobean sting!
And what of 36 barrels of gunpowder hidden Under Parliament! With security on high alert would this not have been forbidden?
Maybe there was a plot in 1605 to blow up Parliament Or could it have been to demonise the catholics and inflict more torment?
This would've served the Kings officials a purpose To endorse the killing of innocents and their spilling of blood not seem worthless
So was Guy Fawkes really Britain's most notorious traitor Or has history once again become the most notorious story creator...
