I thought I'd get in practice Make sure I haven't lost my touch And make the family pancakes This lovely Tuesday night.
Soft white flour, eggs all fresh Milk a plenty and a whisk of steel Hot, fiery pan; ladle full of bubbling batter The first ones ready, I'll ring my little bell.
Children come running 'Tis like a stampede! Hungry little mouths Savouring, devouring, pancakes, sugar and lemon, as quick as I can make.
Ps I ring the bell and they come running... Move over Pavlov!!!
