As I look out my window pane
The glass all squeaky clean
I see a lonely twinkling star
Blazing a hole through space
I think it looks so beautiful
A-twinkling up above
And wonder where it's friends are and who it has to love
And then as I look and listen
I remember from long ago
That everyone that sees a star
Can wish for anything
And so I take that promise
And turn it into gold
And wish the little star
Has friends to have and hold
