~Lexis POV.
Usually on days like this I would be at work, busy at the music store. The shop wasn't big at all, really. But the music selection was more alternative, metal, indie, classic rock and dubstep. Weird combination but I guess that's why I really liked it. We also sold other things but the store was mainly music.
I'd probably be behind the counter by now playing the stores music and singing along with Taylor. Work wasn't really hard or stressful at all. So I don't understand why Cass made me take a week off.
This leave is actually really boring. I know, I'm not what they would call "better", but I was trying. Everything was just dead, tired, dull.
The house was empty, with everyone away right now. Rain left but she said she'd be back tonight.
I hooked my iPod up to the living room speakers and started to play my most favorite playlist. I hit shuffle and the first song that came on was Roger Rabbit by Sleeping with Sirens.
I walked around the house singing with the song, picking up a few things.
I looked at the clock. 6:30, exactly. My head shifted over to the window where the drops of rain beat on the glass repeatedly. It was coming down hard.
I sat down on the counter and put my head down for what felt like a second before the door bursted open. "LEXI. LEXI."
I turned around to see Taylor, soaking wet but a huge smile on his face. This is loudest he's ever been in a while, so something was up.
"I JUST CHECKED OUR PLACE IN THE CONTEST. WE'RE #1!"
"WHAT?!" I jumped out of my chair and ran to him hugging him tightly and squealing.
I could feel the water soaking in through my clothes but I didn't care at all. "Wait, what happened to Crooked Spirit?"
He shrugged, "Something with the drummer getting arrested for drugs and the singer leaving the band.."
I laughed, I don't care, we're #1. Voting ends in 2 days and Awkward Silence didn't have near as many votes as we did.
Besides, one of the guitar players is a huge dick, believe me. A little cocky too.
I pulled away from Taylor's hug and covered my mouth hiding the biggest smile. I looked up at him and he just laughed and hugged me again. "We're touring with Pierce The Veil."
I just nodded and wiped away a small tear of happiness.
Band practice was going to be the best tonight.
