I got my bike out of the garage, and with mom watching me, quickly peddled away, leaving my breakfast to rot in the kitchen.
I got to school quickly with about 45 seconds to spare before the bell. When I arrived, everyone was shuffling towards their lockers, sleepy because of the Monday morning blues. I wasn't sad at all, because of two reasons. 1, I had the beautiful necklace. 2, I had sea studies for first period, my fave subject.
I was putting my backpack away in my locker when my BFF, Jen, met me at my locker like she did every day.
"Het Shona" she said, with a huge grin on her face.
"Hey Em, let me guess. Your parents got you tickets to go to Katy perry live?" I asked, referring to her fave star.
"Better, my brothers having a camping trip at his high school so he won't be at home for a whole week!" She shrieked. I could tell why she was so happy. Jack was the most annoying guy in the world. I got out my phone and slammed my locker shut, like I loved to do.
"Let's go" I said. We had sea studies together.

When we got to class, all the way across the school, it was a wonder we were alive. This weekend was the 8th grade dance, and all the 8th graders were desperate for dates. They were running around and crushing us to death. But finally we made it to class. We slipped in right before the bell rang.
"Hello Shona, hello Jen, please take your seats." Said ms.merlin, our teacher. We took our seats in the front right next to each other.
" now class" said the teacher "as you know, our new unit is on legends. Today, we will be learning about the lost jewel." Oohs and Aahs erupted from the class. She waited until we were silent to continue.
