I slow peddle a little faster when I see our new middle school peek behind the huge willow tree.
"Slow it!" Calls my twin Zara, trying to catch up with me.
"I told you to bring your bike!" I call slowing down a bit. I can't wait to get to our new school. Moving is like starting over to some people. No one really knows us. That's not the case for our family. The reason we moved was because Zara and I were going to premiere in a new show. We've been singing and acting since we were in diapers. I'm the one who can really sing. Zara is the actress one.
"Do you think we're going to fit in?" I ask when I'm right next to Zara. She stops in her tracks and looks at me like I'm crazy.
"Of course we will fit in! I mean no one notices the people who have been on the red carpets and won a Grammy when they were in preschool." She says almost in a shout. Zara hates it when people ask her obvious questions.
"Do you think we will ever make true friends?" I ask her. All our friends were not really friends. The only reason they hung with us was because we were famous.
"Only time can tell." She says walking ahead of me. I peddle faster to catch up with her and nearly run into a tree. As I try to avoid it, my bike falls into a bush. Zara runs to my aid.
"OMG, are you ok?" She asks panicky.
"Yeah." I say as I hear the first out of three bells.
"We better get going" I say taking Zara's hand and we both run toward the school.
