The candle flame turned red and gold, It pranced and danced in the hall, It flickered and wriggled and squirmed and rose, It grew and grew slender and tall.

It galloped and shone, Leaped quick and majestically, It floated in mid-air, Searched for hope desperately.

Then the priest came in, He blew the candle out, And once again, The hall was silent and dark.
