I decided to rework the plot of this. Let me know which one you like better.
Once upon a time, there had been a poor girl, who happened to be an orphan. This girl was often forgotten, except by one kind soul. Her best friend, Hans (short for Hansel) had always been there for her. This was a huge help to her, for not only did she need someone to comfort her, but she was also blind.
Hans and the girl lived at the local orphanage, Miss Picket's orphanage for children. Miss Picket herself was extremely rude, but she only visited every once in a while. The girl who actually took care of them, Nessie Smith, was loving and kind, especially to Hans and the girl.
Now, I suppose you are wondering what this girls name is. She had arrived on the doorstep, in a cardboard box. The box had been one that had previously contained Lola's Lolly Pops, so the girl was named Lola.
It wasn't altogether uncommon for children to arrive in cardboard boxes, but Lola had arrived in a silken dress, diamond shoes, and a small necklace on.
Lola's necklace had, over time, grown. However, poor Nessie ha thought she had imagined it. Now it is a golden orb about an inch wide. It has ornate patterns in a beautiful blue.
Everybody had wondered where she came from, but eventually, they had forgotten it.
