A lot of people like to feast on gossip, on what the "latest" is. It tastes good to them and they find a kind of satisfaction in it, as of it were a tasty bite of food.
"The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down into the innermost parts of the body." (Proverbs 18:8)
If you confide in a gossip, don't be so sure that they'll keep your secrets,
"One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret." (Proverbs 11:13)
"He who goes about talking of the business of others gives away secrets: so have nothing to do with him whose lips are wide open." (Proverbs 20:19)
