The world seemed smaller today, Every coloured door closer to it's step. The letterbox a gaping hole, Grinning for some unknown news.

So I peek, and I spy, and thumbs imprint- As I grip some unknown frame. Fingers creaking, wood creasing and the sound of my heart-

The doorbell.

Would you welcome a stranger? A stranger with a familiar name. The words seemed softer to say;

The world seems softer today.
