I couldn't believe my eyes! It was Chris. I didn't know if I should shout out to him, or stay hidden in the shadows. My life was so confusing. If he caught me in this tree, he would have known I read his bottle message. If Chris knew, his feelings would be crushed and he'd be utterly embaressed. It would be better if I just stayed hidden tree I decided.
I lifted my leg up onto the next branch to get farther away from Chris. My hands were sweaty just thinking about him and I was having trouble gripping the branch. Suddenly I fell straight out of the tree, right on the ground in front of Chris.
"Wow! You know how to make an entrance Ally." Chris said.
"No not really." I said. The truth was I was embaressed. No beyond embaressed. I haven't talked to Chris in over a year and when I finally do get to talk to him, I happen to drop out of a tree.
"Hey Ally, I thought you were in jail." Chris said. "Did they let you out early?"
"Ummm about that." I said.
"You escaped from jail?!?" Chris said.
"I had to! They were holding me unfair against my will!" I said.
"Well I guess your a little bit more adventurous than I thought." Chris said as he grabbed my hand and helped me up. "Do you remember when we use to do those bottle messages? I'm guessing you do because I hid mine right up in that tree exactly where you fell from.
"You knew I was up there?" I said.
"Well of coarse I did. I saw the two cops pull up to the side of the woods, so I came in to investigate. Only a few feet into the woods, I saw you so I decided to follow you. When ever I saw you open up my bottle at the top of the tree, I knew I had to talk to you. I was actually about to climb up and talk to you. I'm sorry if your mad at me." he said.
"I'm not mad at all. I thought it was kind of sweet." I said.
Chris gestered for me to sit down on a nearby rock with him and he wrapped his arm around me. "I always loved your secret Ally. I never knew that you had all those speach issues when you were little." He paused. "I love that your so free and open and thats all I've ever wanted in a girl. That's why I love you."
I didn't know what to say. I couldn't think straight. But I didn't have to say anything because Chris said it all.
He put his hand on my cheek wiping the hair out of my face. His hands were warm and gentle and full of love. He left his hand on my cheek and then leaned in. Chris closed his bright blue eyes and kissed me. It was warm and gentle and I loved every second of it. When he released his lips from mine, he was smiling.
"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" he asked.
I was speachless. "Yes!" I said. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" And I kissed him again.
"What am I suppose to do now though?" I said. "The police are after me."
"You can stay with me." he said. "Come on. I'll take you a special way out of the wood where no one will see you." Chris took his arm and wrapped my back again. I was going to be safe with Chris by my side.
