It was dark now. Lois and Edward were as usual sitting in their office chairs asleep. Now was my chance if I ever wanted to escape. I walked over to the edge of my bed. In the little light I had avalible, I lifted off my matress and dragged it to the corner. Now was the hard part. My matress was soft and light, unlike my heavier metal frame. I grabed the end and slowly dragged it to the other side of the cell.

Creek!

"Who's there?" Lois said only half awake.

Startled, I frooze and looked over in their direction. Phew! They were still asleep. The two officers were snoring and had their eyelids shut tight. They didn't seem like the kind of guys to talk in their sleep, but then again so many things had happened lately that I was having trouble decifering what's real and what's not.

With knowing the cops weren't going to wake up, I grabed a hold of my bed again and quickly dragged it to the other side.

Creek! Scrape! Creek!

No movement. No reaction. All good signs. I propted my bed against the wall and made sure it was stable. Up went my foot onto the first rung, and I was debating if I wanted to do this. "Should I?" I thought. "Would it be better for me in the long run? No I shouldn't." I stepped down off the first rung. "No. I'm going to do this. It's time for Ally Boilston to show the world she's not some stupid kid." Before I could change my mind, I raced up to the top of my "ladder." It barely held my weight for it was poorly made and was starting to sway as I stood at the top. The window had a ledge in front of it on either side and then the bar in the middle serving as the window itself. I grabbed onto the bars hoping they would break off. When I was forming my plan, I forgot to calculate in how to get the bars off. Then I remembered my powers. I clicked them on and could immidietly see that the corners of each of the bars were all rusty. I wasn't able to see this before because they were painted over in a charcol black to match the bars. "It's a good thing this wasn't properly fixed." I thought to myself. Then I saw two ghoatly like hands wrap around the bars. What were they? I didn't have much time left if I wanted to leave her in the dead of the night. I wrapped my hands in the same spot as the ghost's ones and pulled. The bar instanly came loose and almost sent me tumbling backwards. I put the bars on the ledge next to me and crawled out onto the other side. No alarms yet. I was doing pretty good. I just needed to make sure none of the neighbor saw me exscapping from jail.

"Whoa!" I whispered. This is a lot higher than I thought. My powers were still clicked in, and in the dark was able to analize some ivory hanging onto the side of the building below me. I layed down on my stomach and tried to reach the vine. It was to far away. I was going to have to hang from the ledge. I turned around and got down on my hands and knees. Slowly I lowered myself down until I was dangling from the ledge. Back and forth I swayed until my feet touched the vine. I wrapped my foot up on the ivory and let go. I fell until I was upside down hanging from my foot. Carefully, I pulled myself back up and untied my foot. I climbed down the vine just like Jack in the Bean Stock. Just like in his story, we were both on the run. I got to the bottom and ran away as fast as I could. The police would be looking for me by morning.
