Thursday in three towns we had a little vote. For an over ride to help pay for teachers and supplies. The vote was simple yes or no. For yes you'd have to pay slightly more on your taxes. For no your schools would be left with nothing for the year.
Sadly people were greedy and no was quickly voted. The ones with money to spare had the biggest percentile of no. They said "Cut more teachers. Take a pay cut. Spend more money on your insurence."
Uneducated they were for this has already been done. No longer can we do this. The school has nothing left. So you only get one vacation a year, instead of your two. The schools are not asking for much. Just enough to survive the year. If you have extra money to spare after putting food on the table your vote should have been yes. If not you've done nothing wrong. I see your troubles and pain.
To the polls we're aloud to go three times. The first was a failed attempt. After three times of voting no the DOE comes in and takes over. Our district will be destroyed and no longer will you have P.A.T.
A small group of parents are trying to get the word out to get people to vote yes. In two teams they've split for the better or worse each with different opinions.
One group says "Take from the seniors. They're getting all these perks and luxeries most don't have. They all voted no, so take away their budget and give it to the kids."
The other side says "Don't take from the senior. Their people too. Your teaching our children bad habbits. We'll find the money other ways you just need to vote yes."
For the people of these communities just to let you know. Theres a town meeting on Tuesday and you'll have to pay one way or another.
