I woke up the next morning to an empty half of the bed. It was cold and barren as if Gavin had left a while ago. I put on my favorite pink fuzzy slippers and walked downstairs to the kitchen hoping Gavin was just hungry and that was the reason he left.

"Gavin!" I called out. There was no reply. "Gavin!" I said more urgently.

"Your awake!" said Gavin walking in through the front door still in his pj's.

"Where did you go? I've been worried sick!"

"I took a walk along the beach to check something out. Something I know you'd like. I would never leave you unless I had an important reason Callie but I needed to check the way the winds blowing before I asked you. How would you like to join my family on our boat for the day?"

"You have a boat?!? Wow! And I would love to! But can I get dressed first?"

"Of coarse you can Callie!" Gavin said tickling my stomach which made me laugh like a hiyina.

An hour later Gavin and I were standing on the beach in our bathing suits and with a bag full of food.

"All aboard Callie!" said Gavin.

"Don't they usually say that on trains?" I replied laughing as I stepped onto the boat.

"I don't know. Be happy we have a boat!" Gavin said laughing along with me.

"So are we going to go around the islands today Dad?" asked Gavin as we took our seats.

"Were going to try to!"

"Your going to love it!" Gavin said to me. "The beautiful beaches, the light houses, the birds. It's all just amazing!

"And if your mother would hurry up we'd be able to show you sooner Callie." interrupted Joe.

"It's okay." I replied.

"Here I am!" said Gavin's mother. "Let's go!" and at that we left Maine and ventured into the ocean.
