I walked into Spanish Class the way I usually did each morning. I hadn't seen Gavin since the party Saturday and couldn't wait to see him! In my mind I was still replaying his soft gentle kiss. How it felt like heaven. Now I just needed to focus long enough on the Country's Project to get the passing grade I needed.
"Hi Callie! I brought in a poster board and some markers for our diagram. I figured you could draw Spain today while I got some research done." said Gavin.
"Okay. That sounds great honey." I replied.
"Shhh! I don't want to mention that were a couple too close to Señora. I really want to work on this project with you Callie. We don't need her splitting us up."
"Right. Sorry." I said as I cleared my desk for the poster board.
It wasn't long until we were underway with our project. I was sketching the outline of Spain on our poster board while Gavin was recording facts in his notebook. Things were going great and we were actually making great progress.
I started to trace my border in black sharpie when I felt the sleeve of my sweatshirt roll up and felt a tickling sensation on my arm. It was Gavin and he was writing some type of message for me. It read
"Meet me in the town common by the gazibo at seven. I have a suprise for you! xoxox <3"
"Will do." I said.
"See you there!" Gavin said as he picked up his bag to leave for his next class.
I arrived at the gazibo for seven like Gavin said. It was dark and I could barely see anything. Gavin had not arried yet which seemed odd because he was the one who wanted me here. Then I heard the strums of someone's guitar. Gavin walked up to me from around the side of the gazibo holding a guitar in his hand.
"You made it!" he said.
"Yeah. So what's your suprise?"
"Listen." replied Gavin as he started strumming his guitar.
The music played out revealing "Bless the Brocken Road" by Rascel Flats. With his sweet sun shinny voice Gavin started singing the song. It was beautiful as if it came from somewhere above. When he ended on his final note I wanted him to sing more, but he spoke instead.
"Callie I love you and I want you to know that. There's no other way I want to live my life than with you. I think about you nonstop and I can't get you out of my head. So thats why I want you to come with me this year to my parent's vacation home in Maine. It's right along the beach and we could to have so much fun! So will you come?"
"I would love to!" I screamed. "As soon as I get my parents permission I will pack my bag!"
"Great!" said Gavin as he scooped me up into his arms and kissed me. I grabbed him tight wanting to be close to him and we stayed like that until I couldn't take it anymore and needed to breathe.
"See you tomorrow! My love!" said Gavin.
"See you tomorrow!" I replied as I skipped home to ask my parents.
