"You ready Callie?" asked Gavin as I came to the door.
"More than ready. Lead the way!" I said.
"Okay." Gavin replied as he grabbed my suit case in one hand and my hand in the other. We walked out the door together and walked down my driveway.
"Bye Mom. Bye Dad." I turned around and screamed halfway down the driveway.
"Bye honey. I love you." replied my mom.
"I love you too!" I screamed just before closing the car door. My vacation was about to begin.
"Your in for the summer of your life Callie." said a voice from the front.
"Callie I'd like you to meet my parents Mr. and Mrs.Falrony." said Gavin. "But you can call us Joe and Susan." said Gavin's mom.
"Thank you Susan." I said. "I can't thank you enough for letting me stay with you at your beach house for the summer."
"Oh it's nothing Callie." said Gavin. "Just enjoy the three hour car ride."
"Well there's no one I'd rather spend these next three hours with than you." I said and kissed him. I was in for a long, ralaxing car ride.
Two hours into the trip we had nothing much left to talk about. We had left at seven to get an early start and it was nine now. With a long day ahead of me for when we arrived in an hour, I decided to try and get a little rest. We were steadily crusing on the highway like we had been for the last hour and a half so there was no need for me to worry about a bumpy ride. With my head resting against the window, I closed my eyes to begin my nap. That's when I heard a click and felt Gavin sliding twords me.
"Rest your head on my shoulder." he said as he buckled back in again.
I shifted my weight and placed my head on his shoulder. I felt comfy and secure in his arms and enjoyed being in his presence. Gavin's hands ran through my long flowing hair as he attempted to style it like a hair dressor. It wasn't long until I was fast asleep sleeping soundly.
"Callie. Wake up!" said Gavin shaking me.
"What?" I asked puzzled.
"Were in Maine! Come on. I'll show you around the place."
I got uo out of the car and followed Gavin. The outside of the house was huge! The siding was gray with a white trim, and a huge balcony ran the width of the house on the second floor with window boxes full of flowers. Inside the house was quite different. It seemed more comfortable and homey. It smelt of the ocean and looked like any house you'd find back home.
"Let me show you your room." Gavin said covering my eyes.
We walked up the stairs and took left. Still blind folded I trusted Gavin's judgement on where he was taking me. We walked to what seemed like the end of the hallway and took a left.
"Okay Callie. You can open your eyes!"
"Wow!" I exclaimed. The room was amazing. It was a normal sized room but the contents inside is what made the room extrodinary. The walls were painted blue making the room seem light and airy. In front of me stood a queen size bed and across from it was a flat screen tv with a home theater. Next to the bed was a screen door leading to the balcony. On the wall to my right stood book cases. Floor to ceiling they were filled with either books or antiques. To my left was a door.
"Where's the door lead to?" I asked.
"I'll show you." Gavin said.
We walked through the doors into a room almost identical to mine. The only difference was the walls were painted green.
"Welcome to my room." said Gavin. "You can walk through that door at any point during your stay if you wish to see me."
"Wow! Thank you." I said.
"Let me show you the beach."
"Okay." I said as I walked twords the door. Gavin didn't follow me. He opened the screen door instead.
"This way Callie."
I walked out onto the balcony and looked out. In front of me was the beach. One of Earth's many beauties.
"It's a private beach you know." said Gavin.
"Just for us!" I said.
"Just for us!" repeated Gavin.
