It doesn't count in 7th grade It's barely real But that doesn't stop our 7th grade hearts

Wanting to connect Wanting to mature

We mature But we want those days back The innocence The fluttering of stomachs and the unsure holding of hands

But that is all gone We had wanted to mature And now we have Yet we long for those days back When a relationship could be only about "like liking" someone And not really about feelings

Now we are older And we don't count that 7th grade love We remember it fondly at best But cringe at the same time

Unsure awkward

7th grade love
