Though many are sure to disagree, there is something sad about something that you love becoming something that everyone loves. Its underground status has been revoked and it is hard to admit that this destroys just a little part of your soul. Maybe humans are jealous by default. We are greedy and want to keep this thing to ourselves. It will be one of those things that only we can know about and only we can enjoy. And when it is discovered by the masses it makes us want to cry a little because it used to be ours and now we are forced to share it. Of course, there is also a little part of us that needs to feel proud. Like a "proud mother" kind of a moment. But the thing about this "proud mother" moment is that we want to claim it. Because we knew about it first. Yes, we are proud of Darren Criss for his accomplishments and success. But we are also just a little bit shattered because us, as StarKids, knew about him first. We knew him before he was on Glee. And that is what really kills us. And in this way, everyone is a little bit hipstery. We love things, but we want to keep them for ourselves. And although we won't stop loving Darren Criss, we will also never stop feeling possessive of him. No, it is not rational. But when things get mainstream part of us dies. And people hate to admit it because they know that it is true.
