Just because something is different, does not mean it should be the subject of ridicule. Because that something different can bloom into wonderful things, but it's spirit will be ruined by ridicule, and that feeling does not easily disappear. It takes time to heal, if it does at all.
Moral or the story: stop the bullying, for it can crush spirits and feelings, make people feel unimportant. And that feeling stays with them for a long time
