I set myself a personal challenge

To write a happy poem

I might just manage

I wake up in the mornings

With a smile on my face

Knowing that I'm in a happy place

My life is wonderful

Yes it's grand

It's turning out

just as planned

The kids have finally

Flown the nest

Now it's time to get some rest

Foreign holidays I have planned

To exotic places with lots of sand

And I shall come back lovely and tanned
