Lights where glaring across the room. I heard a faint beeping near me and people talking. My eyes finally adjusted and my surroundings where unfamiliar. I saw only two familiar faces, one of which turned and walked away to cry.
"Hello?" I tried to say, but all that came oyt was a raspy whisper. A sharp pain shot through my throat and I instinctively reached for my neck. "Oh." I moaned lowering my hand. Things began to appear much clearer now, the familiar face I saw was Flint staring down at me. He had been crying and had some badages on the back of his neck, but otherwhise he seemed fine.
"Welcome back sleepy head." he said trying to smile.
"What happened?" I said sitting up and stretching from the hospital bed. I don't remember anything exept-" I was cut off
"Listen Bay." he said reaching for the top of my hand. "It's your grandfather. When we where bringing you to the hospital-"
"We? Whos we?" I said letting go of his hand.
"Jackie and I." He said calmly.
"But last time I remember she-" I began
"Let me finish." he interupted. "Ok, when we where in the hospital your grandfather was one of the first to find out. Once he heard he..." his voice trailed off.
"What Flint? Just tell me already!" I said gently tugging his sleeve.
"He had a heart attack Bay." he said holding my hand.
"What am I going to do?" I said, but then I passed out again.
