Hopeless Chapter 9

"Well, I see your up." says Flint sitting next to me "how was your nap?" he adds playing with my wet hair. I slap his hand away and look at Jackie. She has blue streeks in her hair and a blue cape like dress is draped around her shoulders and falls to her feet. If I didnt know better I would say she looks like a fairy of some sort. Flint looks the same, but his hair looks lighter, but the big shock is he has a gun in his back pocket.

"Whoa." I say sliding backwards to the other side of the couch. "why the gun?"

"It's for protection. What else?"

"Why do you need protection?" I ask

"You've got alot to learn." says Jackie coming up from behind. I frown, I can't say I've exactly forgiven her for trying to kill me.

"What exactly do I have to learn?" I say drawing my hand closer to the gun in Flint's pocket.

"Everything." he says smilingand grabbing my hand, he pushes it back on my lap and away from the gun. "but first we need to know if we're right."

Jackie walks over to me and grabs my hand pulling me off the couch.

"Watch it!" I say rubbing the bandages over mg back.

She ignores me rolling her eyes and continues to pull me to the corner of the room where the waterfall falls.

"Do you see it?" she says "Do you see the water?"

"Of course I can. Why wouldnt I?" I ask

From behind me Flint puts his hand in the water, the water begins to turn a deep grey. "Put your hand in." he says. But he must see I'm still completely hipnotized by the grey water because he pulls my hand in fof me. The water is cold at first, but it turns warm after a few minutes, and then, another change. The water turns blue again, a crystal clear blue, even more blue then it was origionally.

I pull my hand away, and frown. Although, Flint's stand stays and the water turns grey again. He looks just asshocked as I am.

"Well?" says Jackie anxiously.

Flint nods and then, everything begins to happen.
