PLEASE READ!!!!!!
The greenery stops and is replaced by tall grey buildings and strangers on sidewalks.
"Dad, why couldn't we just get a house in the country." I say as my fingers slide down the car window. My old house was perfect. Friends, family and school was all close, but since my dad got laid off he had to get a new job and the only one avaible for him was here in the city being a taxi driver. Honestly I don't know how we're going to get by money wise.
"You already know the answer to that Mel. There are no houses close enough in the country to where my new job is. I promise you will make new friends fast." he says trying to pull out a smile for me. He wasn't exactly happy about the new arangement either.
"Ya" I mutter and turn my head back to the window where the lights, grey buildings and noises move by quickly.
"Hey Mel we're here.." says Tad tapping my shoulder. "Mel, Melissa!" he says now pushing me into the car door.
"Okay, okay geez." I say pushing open the car door. "You'd think an eighteen year old would be more machure." I mutter "or atleast move into your own apparetment." he rolls his eyes and we both follow my dad to our apartment quietly while haulling our bags up the stairs. "I can't beleive theres no elivator." I mutter
When we finally finish unpacking I collapsed on the bed and fell asleep, curious of where tomorrow will take me.
