Chapter 2

The dorm was bustling with a bunch of half drunk students, music pounding so hard picture frames rattled. The girls walked through the grass, their apartment was a few blocks away so they walked a lot. They didn't waste money on gas, unless they were traveling far away. Besides, with their superhuman speed who needed a car when you were only going a few blocks? "Hey guys!" The familiar sound of Gwen's voice carried to their ears. She was dancing between two college guys, the look in her eye pure predator. The men didn't notice, they were too busy trailing their eyes elsewhere. Macy and Ava walked past them, heading into the building. Ava saw a lot of students in her classes. She was taking starter classes, she figured why not when she had all the time in the world. Macy strayed from her, heading for a corner with a few people quietly looking around. Ava continued through the building, heading for the stairs. She saw a few couples making out right on the stairs. Stepping over them, she continued. There were numerous rooms and lots of people to fill them. The whole place was packed, a typical Friday night party. Ava found one room that was lounge style. It had two couches, a few armchairs and a large coffee table in the center. There were a few people in this one, most were passed out. As she turned to leave a scent made her stop dead in her tracks. She had smelled it before, in one of her classes. Ava usually didn't pay attention, as intoxicating as it was. Slowly she turned, the scent pulling her towards a corner. "Hey." The voice made her shudder, not in fear but desire. It was the same feeling she got upon hearing Demetri's voice. There sat a young man, he was in his twenties, and very handsome. Something about the way his brown hair was tousled and hung in his hazel eyes called to her. "Hi." she said a little breathlessly. She felt a feeling she only had with Demetri. It astounded her. "What are you doing over in this corner by yourself?" Ava sat in a chair next to him, crossing her slender legs very lady-like. "My girlfriend ran off, we had a fight." "I'm so sorry to hear that." She noticed he was staring at her. He noticed that she had noticed. "Sorry, you just look really familiar." he gave her a boyish grin, one that was slightly lopsided but completely adorable. "Aren't you in one if my classes?" The young woman nodded, "Yes, but which one, I'm not sure." "Ava!" Macy was standing in the doorway, motioning for her to follow her down the stairs. "Sorry, that's my roomie. I've got to go, I promised her we would do dinner with a friend." With that she stood, gave the man a nod and followed her friend. "My name is Pierce!" he called after her, a smile still engraved on his lips.
