How can children cause you to love them so intensely but still cause you so much pain?

I love all types of creativity, literature being one of my favourites. I'm an avid reader who has dabbled with writing via my blog but find it hard to get my imagination flowing :-/ So for now I'll stick with enjoying others work as writing is not as easy as I thought lol
