Short but 'get-to-the-point' story

Jane begged her mother for a puppy, eventually, her mother gave in to the situation and promised her little girl that they will go out the next day - puppy shopping.
The next day, Jane and her mother headed out to the dog shelters, Jane saw an 'un-known mixed breed' and immediately fell in love with the adorable thing. The women who owned all the dogs told Jane to never let a day go by without feeding him, watering him and stroking him - or else things will happen.
Jane did as instructed for many years, until one day when her friend came round early in the morning and distracted her from feeding her beloved dog, in fact, Jane's friend hated the dog that she made Jane insist on keeping it outside for the day - still un-fed.
Jane and her friend went shopping all day, heard of the saying 'shop till you drop?' that's what they did. Poor Jane forgot about her dog outside and flopped onto her bed and fell asleep.
During the night Jane woke up, voices. A voice wailed in her ears,'Jane,You forgot. Jane , your going to pay. Jane, I'm in your brothers room. Jane. Your brothers dead,' by this point Jane was huddled in the corner of her bed and the wall, shaking like mad,
'Jane. I'm I'm your parents room. Jane. They are dead. Jane, I'm in your room. Jane, I'm going to get you. Jane. Your dead. Mwahaha.'
Jane. Was. Dead.
Jane. Was. Murdered.
Jane. Was. Killed. By the demon dog.
