Suddenly, as I held on to Danny's hand, I felt an excruciating pain twang in my 'baby belly'.
I hit Dans emergency button and started sinking to the floor and hugging my knees in pain; just then all the medical staff came in and saw me on the floor screaming.
I heard one of the nurses say,'her waters broke: she's pregnant', then I was lifted on to a wheely bed and gave birth.
Just as the baby took its first breath, Dan woke up.
"It's a girl." he said, he got up and hobbled over to me - maybe his cancer has been cured?
He held out his hands signalling that he wanted to hold our beautiful daughter,"She is gorgeous, almost as pretty as you," he said as he stroked my cheek with the side of his index finger,
"Sir Daniel, how......why.....how— how are you walking? You've got Colon cancer?" the nurse stammered looking confused as she placed my stunningly unique baby in his out stretchered arms,
"Ahh, yeas, about that, it turns out that.......I'm ok!" he excused himself, grinning, rocking our baby back and forth,
"Do you mind?" I said to the nurse, looking at the door while raising my eye brows,"We have to 'discuss' somethings." I continued, putting my 'I-told-you-so' looks on.
The nurse nodded apologetically and backed out of the 'nut-case' room,"What d'ya wanna talk 'bout? Oh yeah, we need baby names, any suggestions?" he said still smiling and looking up from the baby that lay in his arms, I sat up and cleared my throat,
"what exactly happened over the past few weeks where you've been in hospital? Baby names can wait - we chose either: Truth Nicky, or
Nicky Truth, remember?" I said, reaching for him and released my baby out of his grip so I could hold her.
"I have no idea, one minute I feel woosy and have belly ache, the next in totally fine! I like - for the baby name- well Nicky Truth sounds like, nicking truth, so I vote Truth Nicole? And she can choose her nickname when she's older, like, Nicky or Truth! Good idea?" he smiled an leaned towards me, smoothly I felt soft, gentle lips upon mine. I quickly pulled away and looked at my baby,"Okay- Truth Nicole it is!" I said, grinning at all what has just happened,"We still have our wedding! Oh damn it. We haven't told anyone about Truth, oh no." I put the baby back into Dans arms, stuck my head in my hands and began to sob, unintentionally, tears started streaming down my cheeks and my nose started to dribble,"What are we going to do?"
