In the same way that 'misfire' means that something did not ignite as expected, a 'mistake' is something that simply did not take off as expected. It doesn't mean you failed, it just means you learnt one way not to do it. If we all made one more mistake, it would bring us one step closer to succeeding.
I consider myself lucky for the mistakes that I made, as it made me who I am today, and gave me the lessons I needed in life to make me a better person.
