Eventually she gave a long, contented sigh and pulled her head away from the warmth and security of his chest. She looked up at him, smiling timidly and he flashed a grin at her. Her heart was thundering in her chest. He was gorgeous and that smile of his bowled her over. She tilted her face up and he leaned forward and kissed her. It wasn't a gentle kiss like the one they'd shared in the services all those months ago. This was a full on passionate kiss. A kiss that released the pent up feelings they both had for each other. It lasted for more than a minute before they separated again. 'Come on in. I'll show you around.' she said leading him down the hallway. After a quick tour of the house she made some drinks and they sat together on the sofa. She sat sideways and tucked her toes under his leg. It was all she could do to keep her hands off him but she knew he'd made a huge decision today. She didn't want to pressure him. He had to be sure about what he'd done and she couldn't risk pushing him away by rushing things. So she literally sat on her hands while they talked. He told her about his difficult day. She hugged him as he told her about the awful times he and his wife had gone through. She told him about her past too. It seemed they had completely different backgrounds but both had a eureka moment when they realised that life was becoming something that they were not in control of. They'd both made very difficult decisions but they knew they'd been true to themselves.

They snuggled up together and dozed contentedly on the sofa until finally he said 'I really need to go to bed Kathryn' 'I thought you'd never ask' she said but then added 'joking' as she saw the anxious look on his face. 'We don't need to rush anything. You need a good nights sleep so I'm putting you in the spare room. We'll talk more tomorrow' and with that she kissed him on the forehead and led him up to his room. 'Night night Graham' 'Goodnight Kathryn. Thanks for this'. He didn't need to explain. She knew what he meant and she was so relieved she'd called it right. Now, how was she supposed to sleep after all this?
