Trapped under the surface,
Hands around my neck.
Flashbacks of my life seem more like a train wreck.
The darker side of life, which most only read.
Hidden behind smiles and humour; my front that I need.
Behind the front a world less light, covered in wounds and scars, lay a little girl crying with all of her might constricted by emotional bars.
She sobs and shakes and curls up tight, wishing the world away.
No element of strength to voice what she has to say.
She's locked up here behind the smiles, hidden in soulless eyes,
When she comes forth I know then is the day il meet my guarded demise.
