I often wonder how it would be,

If I was born a great oak tree,

Stood tall and proud all on my own,

Once just a seed nature had sown.

Witness to all manner of things.

The bird that calls,

The bee that stings.

In my glory I would adorn,

A green halo, the odd acorn.

My strength my height would be plain to sight,

My roots gripping earth with all their might.

An impressive sight for much to ignore,

"Just a tree" they'd say, "seen one before".

Trees are like humans you see,

Taken for granted; Just like me.
