Queen Cleopatra was born in the transcontinental country of Egypt in it's current capital Alexandria. Her family were the Ptolemies, a dynasty that originally came from Macedonia. But since coming to Egypt, the Ptolemies mixed with Greeks, Syrians, Persians and sub-groups of North Africans. The first Cleopatra was a Syrian princess. Cleopatra's father was the illegitimate. His father was Ptolemy IX Soter. His mother is unknown as they are many possibilities to the racial identy of this mother. Her mother is also unknown but is probably a Woman from Memphis in Egypt or Cleopatra V
