This paper heart is wearing thin, while time chips away at my cheap masquerade,
I'm only lying to protect us both, so I'll play my cards way too close to my chest,
But if you truly want to be with me, then you should make your move,
It beats breaking my own heart again, for you do not know the harm your games and words truly cause.
For now, I have to push you away to keep you close.
