Take a turkey, Stuff it to the brim, With onions and herbs, Else, it's nothing!
Whack it in the oven, Leave it to bake, Don't serve it raw, For goodness sake!
Boil up some berry sauce, Get the potatoes roasting, Don't forget that this is for, That dinner party you're hosting!
Better put the veg on the boil, Wrap those pigs up in blankets, No time to put your feet up- Escort the guests to where they sit!
Pretend to act all relaxed, Fake a smile or two, And then rush back into the kitchen, To put the gravy on to brew.
Soon the oven timer clicks, And the turkey needs to rest, After ten minutes, it's on the plate, The carving's not the best!
Lob everything else onto the plate, Put on a brave face, Deliver the meals to the table, And sit down at your place.
Nothing but praise, you receive, Everyone's impressed, But instead of thanking them, you say: "I think I need a rest!"
