CHAPTER ONE - A Sparkly Mission
"Hey Stephanie, where'd you put the flashlights? We are going to be late!" Grace began to look frantically around the room. "We've got 36 minutes Grace, chill out. They're in our back packs." I stared at the phone waiting to hear from Frances. She was supposed to call to let us know when to pick her up. Grace smiled; "Oh very funny, I should've known that. Dan! Hurry up, we need to get going." Dan came rushing into the living room. "I was busy making lunch, but I'm ready to g.." "Hello?" I answered the phone. "Alright, we'll be there in 3 minutes. See you soon." I motioned to Dan and Grace. "Let's go pick up Frances and head out. Amanda has a very important mission for us." "Where at?" asked Dan. "Somewhere in the mountains I think. It sounds really cool!" I said with joy. Grace stared at me confused. "Like what? Finding out where they make snow?" I laughed. "I heard something about buried treasure." "Cool! I love treasure! Let's go!" Shouted Dan. Frances happily glared at us as we pulled up. "Hey Frances, you ready for the trip?" asked Grace as she stepped in the car. "Sure am! I'm so glad we have such fun missions and are now able to really solve puzzles!" exclaimed Frances. "Yeah, they're always interesting." I replied. "I wonder what mountain we are going to?" "I don't know,"said Dan "But it sounds fun, and I can't wait to see who the culprit is!" I parked the car, and we began to head up to the top floor of a 90's looking building. "This is way too cool!" shouted Grace. "Totally rad." exclaimed Frances. "It says her room is number 204." I said. We began counting the numbers. "This must be it" said Dan. "Lets go in and find out what's happened." Amanda walked over to us. "You must be Grace, Daniel, Frances, and Stephanie. Welcome. This will be where you meet me for every new mission. Please, take a seat and I'll explain everything." "Thank you for having us work for you, we love mystery cases." said Frances. "And solving them" I noted. "Glad to hear." said Amanda. "I saw in your resume that you love to figure things out, and you had so much detail, I couldn't say no. So here you are as my new employes! Isn't that wonderful?" "Yes, very. Thanks for accepting us." Grace added. "Not a problem. The only rules I have is to NEVER give out this location, and stay safe." Amanda cleared her throat. Today, I have called on you to do a big, and cold, mission. I need you to find out where treasure is being kept in Mount Everest! We gasped. "It was stolen from a museum so, find out who took it, where the bad guy is hiding and get it back! Do you think you can do that?" asked Amanda. "sure!" we all exclaimed. "then I leave you to go fourth on this first mission! Good luck!" amanda smiled, shook our hands, and bid us ado. "our first mission! And it involves stolen treasure! That's incredible!" Dan shouted as we began to drive off to mount everest. "yes, it is a little odd thou, stealing from a museum and hiding in a cave." I said. "unusual, but a great first mystery," replied grace. "well the sooner we get through this traffic, the faster we arrive!" said Frances. "and I'm ready for anything!"
