The People That Never Could

To the Unjust, the Cruel, and the Ignorant:

Together we have seen a new era, a temporal of untainted ideals and concepts of equality unimagined before in the cracks of history. Rights have been formed in the name of the different, the colored, the handicapped, and the loving. Even greater still is not only the employment of these ideals within politics but within society. Incredibly society has taken a step further in the ethical unification of the populous. Yet, for some unfortunate reason, people have forgotten of a small and silent, but no less important, group. Those whom have been subjected to unjust treatment and ridicule unlike any other race or religious group: those suffering mental retardation. It is with a heavy heart, and I am indubitably ashamed, to see my fellow peers humiliating those effected by mental impairment. We MUST stop this prejudice at once! For too long have people like this been the subject of crude jokes, horror stories, and unjust treatment. Next time you see this kind of treatment, I urge you to take action!

Hello, for the most part my poems and stories are rather cynical and witty. However, they mean much more than what they seem. Take into consideration that these writings hold a world of justice, egalitarianism, and hope.

Well written & a powerful message 😌

I know how painful it is to love someone the world views as less then a person due to being retarded, and mentally challenged. I hope that by re-posting this more people will be reached and read it.
